About TEPCO

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Incorporated (TEPCO) is the largest electric power company in Japan. TEPCO supplies electricity to meet the increasingly diversified and sophisticated demands of its over 29 million customers in the metropolitan Tokyo, which is the political, economic, and cultural center of Japan, and eight surrounding prefectures.

During fiscal year 2016, ended on March 31, 2017, TEPCO sold about 241 billion kWh of electricity.

In order to secure a stable and reliable supply of electricity, TEPCO has diversified major energy sources ranging from hydroelectric, oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG). To meet the increasing demand for electric power and to raise operational efficiency, TEPCO spent about 568 billion-yen for capital investment in fiscal year 2016.

Cooperation TEPCO and TEPSCO

TEPSCO is a TEPCO’s wholly owned subsidiary company and is operating its business as TEPCO’s consulting engineering firm domestic and overseas. The technologies and know-how of electric power engineering services embodied in TEPCO have been transferred to TEPSCO by means of exchange of staffs, exchanging of technologies in between and performing collaborative development in order to maintain and advance technologies for both companies.
