In urgent need of assuming severe seismic motion, we understand the behavior of a structure during an earthquake by making a 3D model of a facility or a structure that may be subjected to the influence of liquefaction in a faithful manner to the actual shape.
The 3D liquefaction analysis program used by our company is a program called FLIP3D, which is the 3D version of FLIP ROSE (General Incorporated Association FLIP Consortium) used widely by business for practical application. The behavior during an earthquake has been verified by faithfully modeling piles and footings in liquefied ground as part of an analysis. Independent speed-up of FLIP3D enables the analysis of the model of 300,000 degrees of freedom in about three days.
